Meet Our Team
Hui Si is from Singapore, she received her PhD in cancer biology from National University of Singapore, where she studied myeloid transcription factors and histone lysine acetyltransferases in normal and malignant hematopoiesis. She then completed her postdoctoral training at Yale University and Harvard University. During her postdoc, she charted the functional landscapes of epigenetic protein complexes using CRISPR-based saturated mutagenesis approaches. She became interested in using mutations as mechanistic tools to understand how chromatin regulators and histone proteins control gene expression in cancer cells.
Hui Si is passionate about building a research group that fosters open scientific exchange, mentorship, and a supportive, and collaborative lab culture.

Yoanne Hsu, BScResearch Assistanthsuyt[at]as.edu.twShiau-Yu received her bachelor’s degree in Bioagricultural Science from Chiayi University, where she studied rice seedling signaling pathways under low-oxygen stress. She then completed her master’s degree, studying plant hormones and their metabolism in rice. Later, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center, Academia Sinica, where she investigate signaling pathways in Arabidopsis roots.
Shiau-Yu likes to be at the bench and constantly learning new techniques. She is excited to move into a new research field.
Yoanna received her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Creative Writing from University of Michigan (Go Blue!). She is interested in learning new experimental techniques in the lab, to explore how mutations in histone proteins disrupt gene regulation. Outside the lab, she likes to watch football (Go Niners!), rewatch sitcoms, and read.
