Exploring Chromatin Biology through Functional Genomics
Welcome! The Kwok Lab opens on January 2026.
Chromatin regulatory factors, like histone-modifying enzymes, together with histone proteins, act as key gatekeepers of genome accessibility and play central roles in gene regulation. Genes encoding these factors are among the most frequently mutated gene classes in cancer.
We study how chromatin-associated factors control gene expression and how their disruption contributes to cancer. Using functional genomics approaches, our lab seeks to uncover the mechanisms by which these alterations drive disease.
